An East Kent College Apprenticeship can provide you with high-quality training for new or existing staff.
We offer advanced and higher level apprenticeships and the chance to upskill in numeracy and literacy, while gaining a well-respected qualification. An Apprenticeship is one of the most cost-effective ways to develop your business, but it can also improve productivity and enhance staff retention while reducing training and recruitment costs.
Apprenticeships ensure that your workforce has the practical skills your organisation needs. The combination of on and off job learning ensures they acquire the abilities that compliment your individual business requirements, therefore providing you with the employees you need for the future.
Using the outlets listed below, our Apprenticeship team will advertise your vacancy and then screen and interview each applicant ensuring each candidate meets your required criteria. Successful applicants will then be shortlisted for you to interview. There is no cost to you for this service, saving your business valuable time and expense.
For Apprentices aged 16-18, their training is government funded. For Apprentices aged 19+, a fee per apprenticeship applies. A number of grants and incentives are available for business and organisations who have not employed an Apprentice previously. Depending on the level of training and the age and qualifications of the Apprentice, there may also be government funding available to support the cost of the qualification. Please contact the Apprenticeship team for more information regarding training costs, employer grants and incentives.
An Apprentice is required to have a Contract of Employment. This should outline:

Support for additional needs will also be offered as appropriate. The Apprentice will complete their learning via E-portfolio, providing easy access to the assessor and nominated work supervisor. In addition, the assessor will provide regular support within the workplace, ensuring your Apprentice is on track to successfully complete their qualification whilst becoming a valuable asset to your business.
