East Kent College is committed to maintaining and promoting the health, safety and well being of all staff, students and visitors.
All students are issued with an identity card at enrolment. Identity cards should be worn visibly at all times. You will not be able to access computers, printers or the library without your card. Cards are checked on a regular basis and students without a card may be asked to return home.
We believe that EVERYONE who works or studies here at East Kent College will share our core values. We have a responsibility to protect the rights of all, whatever their background, appearance, lifestyle, culture, status or belief. In practice, this means being responsible for ourselves and for others and considering the impact of our behaviour on others.
As a student at East Kent College you can be assured that your individual needs will be taken into consideration and that you will have opportunities to fulfil your potential, achieve your learning goals and equip yourself for the next steps in your life. We will not tolerate discrimination on the grounds of disability, race, gender, religion, age or sexuality and there are rigorous procedures in place to support this.
A dedicated Safeguarding Team can be contacted if College staff or learners have any concerns about their own or anybody else’s well-being and safety.
Our Anti-Harassment Team of professionals is available to help in cases of bullying and harassment among staff and students.
