The Hub is a welcoming place that provides the continuity of staff to advise, guide and support students in overcoming their transition into College and throughout the evolving changes linked to further education.
Students can access The Hub at times they become overwhelmed with their learning or any personal challenges. The Hub provides a safe space for students that may have difficulties with college life. It is equipped with individual desktops to complete own learning tasks in readiness for upcoming deadlines. The Hub offers the opportunity for social interaction and for students to mix and meet with like minded friends.
Staff in The Hub liaise closely with students, parents, caregivers and the course team to ensure any concerns are managed in a sensitive manner.
Staff also support students through difficulties with change, understanding information, or deadlines linked to their learning.
Students are encouraged and supported to access other social areas within the College, as and when they feel confident to do so.
The Student Centre is open to students and has quiet spaces, pool tables, gaming area and a tuck shop.
The Welcome Building is the central reception and provides students with access to college desktops.
The Refectory serves hot and cold food and drinks throughout the College day and a nice place to sit with friends.
The Hub team network with key partners to support and guide students in accessing experience of work and developing working relationships. They also support transitional guidance on to higher educational opportunities.
The team offer a discrete approach in the development of their personal and social skills with an aim to enrich their self confidence and self esteem.
